Eric Zimmer trained as a painter at the Kansas City Art Institute and at the New York Studio School. He spends his days painting unusual pictures and working on drawings with his 7 year old son and collaborator, Fenn. He dreams of sumptuous smells from the Cuban restuarants in the Lower East Side, but relishes his return to the arid landscape of his childhood. His work can be seen in venues ranging from Children's Books, to Museum Collections, to Dummies' Guides.

studiozimmer is a partnership between illustrator, Eric Zimmer and writer, Elizabeth Zimmer. Shortly after meeting, Eric and Elizabeth flew to Paris to get married and then settled into an eclectic life in Denver. Inspired by Eric's paintings and the longtime dream to make children's books, Elizabeth began to gather the creatures from Eric's enigmatic landscapes and weave them into curious stories. The Turtle and the Deep Blue Sky is the Zimmer's first book.
